The next item pertaining to the Club was written on
May 5, 1948, which stated the Kiwanis Club of East Tulsa Charter Party is
scheduled for May 11, 1948.
Meeting to begin at 7:00 o’clock, in the Topaz Room of the Hotel
Tulsa. The party will be an
informal buffet supper and Governor Walter V. Bowman and Mrs. Bowman, Lt.
Governor Hugh Sandlin, and Mrs. Sandlin and members of the clubs in
Division 10 will be in attendance.
The Club has met in various locations over the years
in the East Tulsa area and meetings were
scheduled for noon Tuesday of each week.
(Thursday is now our meeting day with 11:45 AM as the starting
time.)
In November 2004 the Kiwanis Club of East Tulsa and
the Kiwanis Club of Broken Arrow joined
forces and the Club’s name was officially changed to the Kiwanis Club of
East Tulsa – Broken Arrow. The Service projects of the club are
focused in the area reflected by the Club name.
Effective 10/01/2009 the Club merged with the Kiwanis
Club of Tulsa Southeast, and again experienced a name change. We are now known as the “Kiwanis Club
of East Tulsa County.”
The original charter date is still
4/21/1948, as this is the surviving Club.
With this merger and name change our meeting day was moved to
Thursdays. As stated above, we
meet each Thursday at 11:45 AM. (Currently at the Golden Corral at 71st
and Mingo.)
We welcome anyone who is interested to contact us
